Sima Sarraf is a journalism student in her senior year at California State Fullerton.
Although writing is her passion, which will hopefully serve as her career one day, she switched her focus from print to broadcast journalism in the hopes of making herself a well-rounded journalist.
After serving as assistant editor for the Detour (arts & entertainment) section of the student newspaper the Daily Titan in the fall of 2012, she returned as editor for the spring semester of 2013. She has also written for Tusk magazine and is extremely proud to have two of her stories in the 2013 issue.
Additionally, she travelled to Vietnam in a specialized reporting class thanks to her writing mentor, Professor Jeff Brody. There she was able to contribute print, broadcast and multimedia stories and even had the opportunity to volunteer with Project Vietnam, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical aid overseas.
With a passion for live music and writing, Sima hopes to one day grace the pages of Rolling Stone magazine beside her writing heroes Matt Taibbi, David Fricke and Peter Travers among many others.
